This was a difficult one to review. The lady who handled the paperwork was great. Had to wait for approx 20 mins while she unloaded a van. Her helper(did not speak much english) just stood by and did nothing! The car was OK until I got to the M1 and it broke down. Caused a tail back which was noted on my sat nav. Got the car going and made it home with a flashing brake warning light. Tried for ever to get in touch with the breakdown service. Called the "normal Avis number and when I explained the "customer supprt" guy said wrong number and hung up. This proecess happened over 1.5 hours. Finaly got through to the number in the car. The AA were there in 15 mins. Carried out his diaognostics and reset. Recomended IF I was keeping it to get in into the dealer. Not possible on a Sunday and I was making a one way to Gatwick. The light was on after just a few minutes driving. Made it to Gatwick. Explained to the agent in Gatwick Avis and he said he has seen a lot of that issue! The icing on the cake was my next rental, in Canada, made through Aeroplan. I was charged just over $100 on top of my points which I thought paid for everything. NO LONGER AN AVIS PREFERED CUSTOMER NOW. Car rental companies are 10 a penny, maybe Avis should remember that.
We hired a Vauxhall Mokka X. It wasn't having any spare tire attached to it. We got puncture with car around 4:45 AM. We basically got stuck at the middle of nowhere with freezing cold outside with Avis the fabulous service not picking our calls. ShitMAX....
